Vendor Agreement

The agreement

By opening a store on NaijaMarket Ghana you agree to this vendor agreement. You operate an independent business: you set your own prices, manage your own stock and fulfil your own orders. NaijaMarket Ghana provides the storefront, order tools and checkout, and charges the commission described below. We may update this agreement; material changes will be announced to vendors before they take effect.

Commission

Our standard commission is 5% of the item subtotal of every order paid through the app's online checkout (Paystack). The commission is deducted automatically at checkout, so your payout is the remaining 95% plus the full delivery fee if you charge one. Founding vendors may be offered a reduced rate, which we confirm to you in writing; we will give you at least 30 days' notice before any change to your rate. We do not take a percentage of delivery fees. Orders settled outside the online checkout, such as cash on delivery or direct mobile money agreed with the buyer, are handled between you and the buyer, but you remain responsible for honouring the order as accepted.

Payout timing

Online payments are split automatically at checkout and Paystack settles your share directly to your registered settlement account (bank or mobile money), typically within one business day of the payment. Before you can receive online payments you must set up payout details in your dashboard; it is your responsibility to keep the account number and account name accurate. Failed payouts caused by incorrect details may take additional days to recover.

Refunds

Buyers may request a refund when an order is not delivered, arrives badly damaged or materially differs from its listing. Refunds on online payments are issued by the platform back to the buyer through the original payment method, and the refunded amount, including the commission we took, is deducted from your settlement share. Respond to refund requests quickly; ignoring a genuine refund request may result in the refund being issued from your share and repeated failures may lead to suspension. Buyers misusing refunds or falsely claiming non-delivery may lose account access.

Banned items

You may not list or sell: weapons or ammunition; drugs, medicine, supplements or tobacco products; alcohol; adult content; counterfeit or branded goods you do not own the rights to; stolen or illegal items; live animals; lottery or gambling products; financial services; and anything prohibited under Ghanaian law. Food listings must be honestly described with their true condition and expiry dates where applicable. Listings that breach this rule will be removed, and repeat offences lead to account suspension without refund of pending balances.

Packaged food and the FDA

Vendors selling packaged, processed or manufactured food are responsible for complying with the requirements of Ghana's Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), including product registration where it applies. Listing a packaged food on NaijaMarket Ghana, or receiving a Naija Verified badge, does not mean the product or vendor is FDA-approved; that approval sits with you as the seller. Vendors of raw, unprocessed foodstuffs should handle, package and transport their goods hygienically. NaijaMarket Ghana may ask for documentation for packaged food and may remove listings that appear unregistered.

Your responsibilities

Keep your store, contact and payout details current, use real photographs of your shop and products, honour the orders you accept, keep accepted orders fresh and safe for delivery or pickup, and treat buyers professionally. You are responsible for your own tax and business licensing obligations.

Suspension and closing

We may suspend or ban a store for fraud, repeated buyer complaints, banned items, or breach of this agreement, with an explanation wherever possible. You may close your store at any time from your dashboard; settled funds already paid out to your account remain yours.
